Return of the hiking mama.

How does one return to blogging after being away for a while? Is there an “I am back” post that one must write or does one merely pick up from where they left off? Since I don’t know the answer, this is a bit of both. After a long time away, I have felt inspired to start blogging again. More as a diary for US, but also to answer some questions that we get all the time.

Briefly, I started this blog four years ago when my daughter was born. It was a way to document the hikes we went on while she napped and I tried to save my sanity and my family from falling apart. Somewhere along the way, I posted more pictures of the hikes on Instagram, and stopped writing about them. Four years later, my daughter who started hiking in a carrier at 3 months old is now an avid 4 year old hiker. The tradition has stayed alive in our family and we have discovered so much of NSW through hiking. We also became a home schooling family last year and have loved the flexibility that it has afforded us. Most of all, we have lived through the pandemic, are healthy and our relationships are stronger.

This blog will continue to talk about hikes, home schooling but more importantly, finding ways to connect as a family. For a brief reintroduction, this is us. Thanks for being here.
